按照《法國足球》主編費雷此前的說法，《法國足球》會在11月20日左右通知2021年度金球先生 。预定在此之前 ，金球奖法這一頂級個人榮譽的国足歸屬將會一直被保密 。但最近一段時間 ，球主大量媒體和媒體人都宣布梅西將會贏得2021年金球獎 。编都對於這種泄密式報道 ，胡说費雷如今在接受《體育圖片報》采訪時予以了駁斥 。炒作
“在最近10天 ，梅西我們聽到了很多各種各樣的预定說法 。”費雷表態 ，金球奖法“那全都是国足胡說八道，都是球主在虛張聲勢而已 。”
對於金球獎 ，编都梅西日前曾表示並不認為自己是胡说頭號熱門 ，他的態度是“得之我幸失之我命” 。萊萬是梅西在金球獎上唯一的競爭者 ，他在出席波蘭隊賽前新聞發布會時 ，同樣表示對金球獎並不太在乎 。
“我並不會過於糾結於能否獲得金球獎 。”萊萬說道 ，“無論是各種猜測或者媒體爆料 ，都無法增加我獲勝的概率 。”
“也許在頒獎典禮臨近時，我會去想這事 ，但如今才11月初 ，還早著呢 。”萊萬繼續說道 ，“金球獎當然是一項偉大的榮譽 ，但沒必要一直想著它 。無論是在頒獎前還是在頒獎後 ，我都照樣有很多工作要做 。”本次金球獎頒獎典禮 ，將會在11月底舉行 。
