The new patent application outlines how the keyboard would use "a guard structure coupled to the key cap operable to direct contaminants away from the movement mechanism." Apple is expected to unveil new MacBooks later this year, but if you're holding out for a new computer, don't get too excited. In this case, if a crumb-resistant keyboard is coming, it certainly wouldn't be later this year. 。
So our advice is this: If you're in the market for a new Apple computer, your best bet is to wait until later this year when the company will likely update its entire roster of laptops.
