Google Chrome's Android app just got a small but extremely helpful update that makes it much easier to share links.
The latest version of Chrome will now automatically "clean up" unwieldy URLs before you share them so you know longer need to worry about copying and pasting links with large amounts of extra text at the end.
SEE ALSO:Here's how Chrome will filter annoying adsThe change, which was first spotted by Android Police, is live with the latest version of Chrome's Android app, version 64.
It may sound like a relatively small tweak, but it makes URLs look a lot less unsightly when you share a link. The extra stuff that gets added on to the end of links, often the result of tracking tags or the search queries that lead to that page, can add hundreds of extra characters to a URL (just look at this example from Android Police).
You can try out the new streamlined link-sharing in the Google Chrome app on Android by using the app's native share menu (and you can continue to manually copy and paste from the URL bar if you want all that extra text fro some reason).
