In September 2015, Netflix launched an app allowing customers to watch shows and movies using headsets such as the Oculus Rift, but it seems like the streaming giant won't be pushing into virtual reality content of its own just yet.
In an interview with Mashable France, Netflix cofounder and CEO Reed Hastings said the company was not currently developing proprietary virtual reality content, despite having already built a virtual living room where you can watch Orange is the New Blackin peace.

A Netflix spokesperson confirmed to Mashable Australiathe company is not currently developing any virtual reality.
It seems for the moment, Netflix will be concentrating on producing its own shows globally. That includes its first original French offering, a series called Marseille, which stars acting icon Gérard Depardieu and debuts May 5. "We're trying to expand around the world to offer our shows, our original content, to everyone," Hastings said. "To be a global producer of content."
