吳金貴說 ：“我們國家隊在一些細節上和日韓差距很大，度问跟越南也有差距 ，题比不是吴金我們身體問題 ，也不是贵国態度問題 ，就是身体赛比賽能力不行 。
我們比賽中處理球的和态能力不行 ，所以看不到眼前一亮的度问傳球 ，致命的题比傳球 ，而這一點恰恰也是吴金我對吳曦的要求 ，他也是贵国國家隊的隊長，今年一定要在這上麵花很大功夫 。身体赛我們對比賽的把控和關鍵球的處理不行 ，這是用比賽積累起來 。”
對於申花隊今年聯賽的策略 ，吳金貴認為 ：我們不能像曼城一樣 ，控著球讓人家跑 ，我們做不到，所以隻能更多跑動 ，所以今年我的戰術會做出很大改變 ，需要球員去付出更多 ，我們不論年齡 ，隻要能夠執行戰術 ，跑到一定數據 ，就可以進入比賽陣容。
我希望球員每個人每場比賽都再增加500米的跑動 ，我希望全隊的跑動距離加起來能夠超過100公裏，這就完全不一樣了 。尤其是中場隊員 ，我們會選擇能跑的隊員 ，戰術也會要求大家跑起來，大家也都做了這樣的準備，今年肯定會有所改變 ，當然也是循循漸進，跑動距離肯定會增加 ，另外高速跑和衝刺跑也很重要 。
