廣州隊在官網上公布了新賽季一隊的赛季首任35人大名單 ：隊內並無外援 ，除了韋世豪 、粤媒楊立瑜 、重用嚴鼎浩、年轻吳少聰 、广州蔣光太這5名國腳之外 ，队新其餘均為年輕球員 。赛季首任以這樣一支隊伍出戰今年的粤媒中超 ，廣州隊的重用首要任務就是保級 。
今年的年轻中超將實施“升三降三”的全新製度 ，中超的後三名將直接跌入中甲 。對於沒有外援的廣州隊來說 ，今年的首要任務就是保級 。
對於目前很多球隊遭遇的欠薪問題 ，中國足協在俱樂部準入時放寬了相應標準 ，但未來3個時間點（7月31日 、10月31日 、12月31日）各欠薪俱樂部都會麵臨考驗 。如果在時間點前不執行約定，那麽球隊會麵臨著罰分甚至直接降級的處罰 。對於廣州隊來說 ，解決欠薪問題也是一大考驗。
