亞足聯競賽委員9月30日在吉隆坡召開會議 ，第位做出了一係列新的年亚決定 ，這其中也有一項與中國足球有關。冠名亞足聯宣布，中超鑒於疫情對部分會員協會以及俱樂部仍有影響甚至麵臨嚴峻挑戰，亚足因此競賽委員會一致認可今年退出亞冠聯賽的联技兩家中超俱樂部長春亞泰以及上海海港 ，屬於“不可抗拒因素” ，术分將不會受到任何處罰 。降至
亞足聯從2021年開始，第位在亞冠席位分配方麵改為一年一定 ，年亚即2021年確定2023年席位 、2022年底將確定2024年席位。目前中超排名日本、韓國 、中國香港、馬來西亞 、越南、泰國之後 ，排位東亞第七，亞洲第16；2024年 ，中超征戰亞冠聯賽的席位將隻有一個 ，而且還不得不去參加亞足聯二級俱樂部賽事亞足聯杯 。
