Baseball fans waited 71 years for Wrigley Field to host another World Series game, and the venerated old ballpark didn't disappoint.

First opened as Weeghman Park in 1902, Wrigley became Wrigley in 1927. It's since become perhaps the most hallowed ground in all of Major League Baseball but hadn't got to host a World Series game since 1945, the last time the Chicago Cubs advanced to MLB's final round.

When the 2016 World Series moved back to Chicago on Friday night after the Cubs and Indians split the saga's opening two games in Cleveland, that streak was finally broken. And boy, did Wrigley shine in its close-up.

They just don't make ballparks like this anymore, folks. Here are some shots from Friday night's night game, which visiting Cleveland won 1-0 to take a 2-1 lead in the series.
