北京時間9月29日消息，广州據足球報報道 ，弃今9月28日傍晚，年余廣州足球俱樂部發布公告 ，下赛宣稱經過友好協商 ，事或與主教練卡納瓦羅終止合約。派预從2014年11月到2015年6月 ，备队杯再從2017年11月到2021年9月，出战卡納瓦羅與這支球隊牽手的足协日子 ，定格在1630天——那不勒斯人成了廣州隊執教時間最長久 、广州場次最多的弃今外教 。
雙方經過一段時間的年余密切溝通 ，卡納瓦羅最終決定放棄明年過億元的下赛薪水 ，提前與廣州隊解約，事或而他也收到了將近4000萬元的派预大灣區個人所得稅退稅款 ，這原本屬於俱樂部的一筆優惠政策收益 ，廣州隊將此當成提前解約的賠償。
送走了金球先生 ，生活還得繼續 。處境再艱難的廣州隊，也還得硬著頭皮繼續走下去 ，他們也不會放棄今年餘下的足協杯和中超第二階段的比賽。不過目前廣州隊的一線隊至今仍未集結備戰，也沒能看到能夠收隊訓練的條件，10月份就將開始的足協杯，廣州隊極大概率將會派出預備隊陣容出戰 ，這支由助理教練劉智宇領軍的青年軍 ，今年曾參加過U21聯賽以及亞冠小組賽 。
