本場比賽C羅在上下半場補時階段各進一球 ，实吹幫助曼聯客場2-2戰平 ，肩梅積7分繼續在F組排名榜首。明捧梅西在C羅打進絕平進球後 ，罗莱因论进罗比萊因克爾發推特稱讚：“簡直令人難以置信 ，实吹C羅又一次做到了 。肩梅足球史上最偉大的明捧梅西終結者之一 ，非凡的罗莱因论进罗比球員 。”不過著名主持人皮爾斯-摩根回複稱 ：“之一 ？实吹把這去掉吧 。”
萊因克爾隨即回應稱 ：“在進球方麵 ，他（C羅）和貝利 、穆勒、迪斯蒂法諾 、梅西並列 。很難比較不同時代的球員 ，因為規則的變化 ，而且比賽條件對現代球員要有利很多 。”
