英格蘭權威媒體天空體育也證實 ，孔蒂本人今日將抵達倫敦 ，與熱刺高層進行麵對麵洽談 ，而他也被看好將會接受合約 。《全市場》則跟進補充了合約信息，他表示孔蒂和熱刺正商談一份1年半的合約 ，賽季結束後雙方將會視合作效果決定是否提前續約 。
現年52歲的孔蒂此前曾在英超切爾西執教過2個賽季 ，他主打的標誌性三後衛體係帶領藍軍2年內拿下1個英超冠軍和1個足總杯冠軍 ，此番若最終執教熱刺 ，也將是孔蒂時隔三年重回英格蘭足壇 。
值得一提的是 ，在今夏熱刺選帥過程中曾一度考慮聘請孔蒂執教 ，但雙方最終由於種種原因未能談妥，這一次時隔4個月熱刺主動“糾錯”之下 ，看上去即將入主托特納姆的孔蒂也將給英超帶來一股新的“三後衛”旋風 。
