The price hike means that the $7,000 add-on to any Tesla vehicle ramps up to $8,000. Musk has warned that the price is only going to keep inching up as the likelihood of actually using more of the self-driving features increases.

Musk has said the value of the FSD package will be far more than what you put down. Eager Tesla owners are jumping on the "discounted" price while they can. For owners who already have the Enhanced Autopilot package with advanced automated driving features like highway auto-steering, the FSD upgrade is $3,000. But that cost, too, will bump up on July 1.
