不過科隆方麵卻對利雅得新月的权健求購意向表示了拒絕 ，科隆方麵表示俱樂部無意出售莫德斯特 ，外援除非對方開出的莫德報價很有吸引力 ，科隆才會重新考慮。
不過對沙特豪門來說 ，錢似乎並不是問題 。利雅得新月是去年的亞冠冠軍 ，他們在決賽中2-0擊敗了韓國球隊浦項製鐵，斬獲隊史第四座亞冠冠軍獎杯，同時他們也成為了亞冠曆史上首支4次奪冠的球隊 。利雅得新月曾在1991年 、2000年 、2019年和2021年分別奪得亞冠冠軍，此外 ，這支沙特球隊還曾四次獲得亞冠亞軍 。
