北京時間10月21日，韩媒怀疑韓國媒體“sportalkorea”近日關注了與廣州隊解約的关注主教練卡納瓦羅 ，稱其對中國隊是卡纳否可以進入世界杯持懷疑態度 ，並表示與2017年相比 ，瓦罗中國足球似乎已經停止進步 。下课

韓國媒體表示 ，正像卡納瓦羅說的那樣 ，中國隊在世預賽12強賽當中苦苦掙紮 ，目前1勝3負排名第五位 ，夢想著依靠歸化球員打進世界杯決賽圈的他們依靠小組前二直接獲得參賽機會的可能性微乎其微。
“說這話很不好意思 ，但是與2017年相比 ，中國足球似乎已經停止進步 。”卡納瓦羅說 。
