北京時間9月6日 ，國際足聯官方宣布，内亚由於目前幾內亞國內局勢動蕩 ，对阵原定於當地時間9月6日進行的摩洛幾內亞主場對陣摩洛哥的世預賽延期進行 。
據悉 ，世预赛延當地時間上周日淩晨，期进幾內亞某武裝團夥發動軍事政變 ，官方哥他們綁架了總統作為人質 ，内亚並宣布廢除憲法且封鎖交通一周 。对阵隨後，摩洛摩洛哥全隊緊急撤離 ，世预赛延目前 ，期进摩洛哥隊已經回國。官方哥球隊中的内亚大牌球員阿什拉夫在回到祖國後也發文報平安 ：“感謝大家發來的消息 ，感謝大家的对阵關心 。這是非常緊張的一天，感謝上帝 ，我們最終平安歸國了 。晚安啦。”
國際足聯官方對此發表聲明 ：“幾內亞目前的政治和安全局勢非常不穩定 ，國際足聯和非洲足聯正在密切關注情況的發展 ，並決定推遲原定於9月6日在科納克裏進行的2022年世界杯預選賽幾內亞對摩洛哥的比賽 ，以確保球員和工作人員的安全 ，關於重新安排比賽的信息將在稍後公布 。”
